    • This department was established in 1982 with an intake capacity of 30 students with the current intake of 40 at the first year level. Renowned professor in Ceramics, late Dr. M.D. Narashimhan was HOD of the department. This department has a high placement record in India, thus established its identity across the nation. Most of the staff upgraded their qualification and skills from premier institutes of the country such as IISc, IIT, and NIT and have published research papers in peer reviewed journals of high impact factor. About 80% of teaching staff of this department are Ph.D holders.
