UPES Engineering Aptitude Test
University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Engineering Aptitude Test conducts University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) conducts UPES Engineering Aptitude Test (UPESEAT) to offer admissions to aspirants planning to apply for BTech/BDes and BPlan programmes. For students interested in pursuing a career in Engineering, UPES offers them a boutique of specialised programmes in sectors like Energy, Infrastructure, Transportation and Application IT.
Aspirants can apply for the entrance exam either online or offline. The filled-in application (OMR/Online) form of a candidate should be received by the University before the deadline UPES-EAT is a three hour long paper-pencil test which is conducted across 41 cities PAN India. Candidates can download their UPES-EAT admit cards from the official website of UPES Candidates will be shortlisted for admissions on the basis of their performance in the entrance test, after which they have to appear for centralised counselling based on their performance. Around 80% of the seats in UPES-EAT are reserved for candidates opting to appear in UPES-EATand the remaining 20% seats are reserved for admissions on the basis of Board Merit and JEE Main score
UPES-EAT exam pattern: This entrance exam is a paper-pencil based test which is of three hour duration. UPES-EAT exam paper will comprise of 200 multiple choice objective questions.
UPES-EAT 2016 question paper will be divided into five sections. These sections will comprise of questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Language Comprehension and Current Affairs Awareness.
A total of 50 questions each will be asked from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics whereas 30 questions will be in the section on English Language Comprehension and another 20 questions will be asked to judge the candidate’s Current Affairs Awareness.
Marking: For every correct answer, candidates will be awarded +1 mark. UPES-EAT exam does not have any negative marking so no marks will be deducted for wrong options selected by candidates. Also, UPES exam does not have any section wise cut-off.

The syllabus for UPES-EAT 2017 includes topics covered in subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class XI and Class XII and its similar to JEE Main syllabus.

Eligibility for UPES Engineering Aptitude Test
Candidates are eligible to appear for UPES-EAT if they fulfill the below mentioned eligibility criteria for this engineering entrance exam:
For BTech programmes [other than BTech +LL.B (Hons)] – Candidate must score minimum 60% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (X & XII) and minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level (XII).
For BTech +LL.B (Hons), BDes and BPlan programmes – Candidate must score minimum 50% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (X & XII) and minimum 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level (XII).
Age Limit: Candidates who are 22 years or less are eligible to apply for UPES-EAT. Their date of birth which is mentioned in their Secondary Education Board will only be considered authentic for admissions.
UPES Engineering Aptitude Test Application
Interested candidates can fill the application form for UPSEE either online or through the offline mode, whichever means suits them best.
Aspirants are given the option to apply for UPES-EAT 2016 either online or even through the offline mode.
Candidates can apply online for UPES-EAT on the official website of UPES.
Candidates need to pay the application fee which they can pay either through debit card or credit card. The prospectus will be send to candidates by courier after the application fee is received from the candidate.
Candidates are provided with an option to download the e-copy of the prospectus from the UPES website upon receipt of payment.
Candidates can also purchase the UPES Prospectus and application form by sending a demand draft (DD) in favour of “UPES Fee Account”, payable at New Delhi / Dehradun.
This DD should be accompanied with a request letter for the same or candidates can even make a cash payment at admission counters located in cities such as Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Dehradun, Vishakhapatnam, Kolkata, Mumbai, Dhanbad and Patna.
Candidates are advised to go through a set of detailed general instructions regarding the admission process for UPES-EAT on UPES official website.
Candidates can download their admit card from the official website of UPES. The duly completed downloaded admit card with photograph affixed (duly attested) in the space provided will have to be produced by the candidate at the allotted test center. Any candidate who comes for the entrance test without the admit card or possesses an admit card which does not have the candidate’s photograph will not be permitted to take the test.
Based on a candidate’s performance in UPES-EAT exam, he/she is allotted a rank. Candidates are shortlisted for admissions on the basis of their ranks in UPES-EAT and are then invited for centralised counselling process. Admissions and programmes are allotted to candidates based on their rank along with the availability of seats in the programme of their choice.
