Questions in WBJEE will be on the basis of syllabus mentioned for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biological Sciences here.
The exam pattern for WBJEE states that all questions will be in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) format wherein for each question with four options will be given to candidates. Each question will have only one correct answer and candidates need to colour the bubble of the correct answer in their OMR answer sheet.

Questions on the basis of WBJEE exam syllabus will be divided as mentioned below:

Subject Category 1 Category 2 Category 3 Total Marks
Mathematics 60 X 1 mark each 15 X 2 marks each 05 X 2 marks each 100
Biological Sciences 60 X 1 mark each 15 X 2 marks each 05 X 2 marks each 100
Physics 45 X 1 mark each 10 X 2 marks each 05 X 2 marks each 75
Chemistry 45 X 1 mark each 10 X 2 marks each 05 X 2 marks each 75

Category 1
• Only one option is correct, correct response will yield one mark.
• For incorrect response, 33.33% of full mark (1/3) would be deducted and
• For more than one answer indicated against a particular question in the OMR sheet; the said answer will be treated as incorrect response/answer and marks will be deducted.

Category 2
• Only one option is correct, correct response will yield two marks. • For incorrect response, 33.33% of full marks (2/3) would be deducted and • For more than one answer indicated against a particular question in the OMR sheet; the said answer will be treated as incorrect response/answer and marks will be deducted.

Category 3
• More than one option may be correct and marking of all correct options only will yield two marks. • For any combination of answers containing one or more incorrect responses, net mark awarded will be zero and for partially correct response without any incorrect marking. The marks awarded would be = 2 X (no of correct responses) / (total no of correct options)

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Application

Candidates can download and fill WBJEE application form for this exam from the official website of WBJEEB. The WBJEE application form is interactive in nature fields that need to be filled are categorised in different sub-sections.

The application form is categorised into two sections which are:
• Personal details
• Fee payment details
After the candidate fills and submits his/her personal details then the system will generate a unique 7-digit numeric application number for the candidate. Once an WBJEE Application Number is generated, the candidate can logout from the system.
The candidate is advised to use this system generated Application Number along with his/her date of birth for any future login to the system. So, it is important that the candidate stores his application number accurately.
Corresponding to the type of application submitted the candidate need to pay the application fee. The fee candidates need to pay is as mentioned below:
Availability of courses for admission through WBJEEM
Engg/Tech/Arch/Pharm only
Medical/Dental/Pharm only
Engg/Tech/Arch/Pharm/ Medical/Dental
Once the application fee is successfully paid by the candidate a Confirmation Report is issued to him/her. The generation of this “Confirmation Page” ensures that the candidate has successfully registered for WBJEE.
On the Confirmation Page, candidates have to paste their two identical (recent) coloured Passport sized Photographs. Here, after pasting the candidate needs to self-attest one photograph. After which the candidate needs to put I Left Thumb Impression and Signature in the respective boxes. Subsequently the fields mentioning the signature of the Father / Mother / Guardian (in case both parents are absent /unavailable) must also be filled up by the candidate’s Father/Mother or the Guardian, as the case may be.
After the candidate successfully completes his application form for WBJEE, then he/she has to send his application form along with the necessary documents in a single envelop by speed post to the below mentioned address :
REGISTRAR, WBJEEB, AQ-13/1, Sector-V, Salt Lake City, Kolkata-700 091.

After the confirmation report of the candidate is received by the Board then automatically the admit card will be generated to the candidate. The admit card would contain the candidate’s examination centre for WBJEEM. Also, a link will be made available to students to help them download the admit card for the exam.
The admit card for WBJEE would also have the candidate’s examination Roll Number which would be unique for all candidates.
Candidates are advised to retain their admit cards carefully in secure place in undamaged condition in all respects as stated above till the completion of admission procedure.

Candidates must answer the exam questions on their OMR Answer Sheets which are readable by machine. Candidates need to encircle the bubble of the correct answer using blue/black ball point pen only.
There will be three separate merit lists for WBJEE exam for engineering medical and pharmacy entrance exams (this is not applicable to Jadavpur University).

• Less negative marks in Physics for only the 2 marks questions

For Pharmacy course at Jadavpur University, the merit list of Engineering will be considered. For Pharmacy programmes on offer at places other than Jadavpur University, a separate merit list will be prepared.
List of successful candidates will be prepared on the basis of total marks scored by them in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biological Sciences, whichever is greater (to be treated as 3rd subject). However, in case there is a tie, then the below mentioned criteria will be used as tie-breaker:
• Less negative marks in 3rd subject (Mathematics/Biology), Physics and Chemistry taken together
• More positive marks in 3rd subject (Mathematics/Biology) and Physics taken together
• More positive marks in 3rd subject (Mathematics/Biology) and Chemistry taken together
• Less negative marks in 3rd subject (Mathematics/Biology) and Physics taken together
• Less negative marks in 3rd subject (Mathematics/Biology) and Chemistry taken together
• More positive marks in 3rd subject (Mathematics/Biology) for only the 2 marks questions
• More positive marks in Physics for only the 2 marks questions
