Eligibility Criteria

Candidate should hold a Master’s Degree (from a recognized university) in the relevant subject with a minimum of 55% (In the case of SC / ST candidates there will be a relaxation of 5%). Candidates who are qualified for CA or ACS or ICWA with basic degree are also eligible to register for M.Phil. in this category. Candidates who have qualified for Master’s Degree prior to 1990 - 1991, with no less than 50% marks are also eligible to register for M.Phil. program

Admission Guidelines

Download the application form. Submit the filled application along with the necessary documents. The candidate should submit two copies of a "Synopsis" along with his / her application. Eligible candidates will be required to take up M.Phil. Entrance examination comprising an Aptitude Test, a Subject Paper and an Interview. Reservations for SC, ST and other candidates shall be as per extant guidelines of the Government of India

Course Details

The M.Phil. Degree shall have the status of an intermediate Degree between the first Post-Graduate Degree and the Doctorate Degree. It will have both research and course components and will give the student adequate background for advanced research. This is a post graduate course. To cater to the needs of people suffering from a variety of psychological ailments, trained mental health professionals are needed. Psychology, which was largely an academic discipline earlier, has become one of the major professions in the area of mental health care. Psychologists apply knowledge and methods from various fields of biopsychosocial sciences for promotion and maintenance of mental health of individuals. Varieties of techniques, methods derived from several branches of psychology are used in prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of physical and mental disorders where psychological factors play a major role
