Eligibility Criteria

candidate must have passed B.E. / B.Tech examinations in relevant fields of VTU or any other recognized university with the minimum of 50% aggregate and those candidates who belong to SC/ST must have 45% of the aggregate marks in the examinations.

The selection depends on the rank scored in PGCET. GATE qualified candidates get first preference during the selection.

Course Details

This engineering discipline gives a very strong technical basement in its own area, along with basic fundamentals of other disciplinary. The department gives a great and deep knowledge in the various fields of testing, design, manufacture, control and evaluation in Thermal Power. The course academics focus on developing the necessary technical and analytical competition among engineers in these fields. Masters in this area are the engineers who are focused on renewable and sustainable energy.

The department arranges industrial visits for students in order to expose them to practical experience and make them participate in workshops. The labs are well utilized by the M.Techstudents for their practical knowledge, the labs are well-equipped and have Modern Internal Combustions Engines Laboratory, Heat Transfer Laboratory, Fluid Machinery Laboratory, Computational Fluid Dynamics Laboratory and CAD Laboratory. Faculties and scholars are actively working on research works related to allied interdisciplinary areas and thermal power. Major research areas are alternative fuels, computational and experimental fluid dynamics, combustion modelling and diagnostics and Electronic fuel injection, heat transfer.
