Candidates must haveMasters in a relevant subject or any other equivalent qualification with a minimum of 60% aggregate or equivalent CGPA marks in any of the Universities recognized by the state or central legislature in India. For SC/ST candidates there is a relaxation of 5% in required aggregate marks.

Course Details
The Ph.D. program in Electronics is a research-based program. The research must be done in any of the several areas of Electronics. The speech/image/signal processing, embedded systems and VLSI, robotics and communications are the core strength of this institute. The main focus of this program is the thesis. The thesis work requires a good knowledge in the areas of problem formulation, analysing of problems. The original contributions are based on the analysis with sufficient mathematical validation and rigour. The research must be of high quality to be publishable in national/international journals and seminars in the areas of research.
This Ph.D. program work consists of the syllabus which may be completed in one year. The main aim of this program is to provide students with sufficient knowledge to carry out the research. The main focus of this program is on Research work leading to the thesis. The students must decide their guide and research area within the first year while doing course work. After that, the steps involved are: completing the course work, clearing compulsory qualifiers, proposal defense, and thesis defense.
