Admission Guidelines

Candidate must have obtained MBBS degree from MCI recognized institution. Candidates must have completed one year compulsory rotating internship after passing the final professional examination.For MSc courses in Physiology, Anatomy, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, and Microbiology, are done on the basis of the rank obtained in MU-OET (All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test). For MSc Genetics counselling, admissions are done on the basis of rank obtained in MU-OET and also Aptitude Test

Course Details

MSc in Microbiology is a 2-year postgraduate course offered at Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore with advanced practical curriculum of microbial techniques, project work, dissertation, and industrial visits. Along with advanced theoretical topics, encouragement will also be given to practical knowledge from simple microbial staining techniques to most advanced laboratory techniques like different isolation techniques to include molecular isolation, viral isolations, and enzyme immobilization techniques. After completion of this course, the graduates can confidently take part in research or involve in teaching.
