General Category: Foreign and Indian nationals with OCI/PIO cards are eligible for admissions under general category. Eligibility, Selection, and admission to M.S., M.D & PhD Courses is according to the prevailing rules of the Medical Council of India, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore and COMED-K.

Admission Guidelines

Candidate must have obtained MBBS degree from MCI recognized institution. Candidates must have completed one year compulsory rotating internship after passing the final professional examination.

Course Details

MD in community medicine offered at Kasturba Medical College is a 3-year postgraduate program that is structured with specific learning objectives in the field of public health management and epidemiology. This postgraduate program is dealt with 3 major categories to include: Primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare. In primary healthcare setting, graduates will get complete knowledge on immunization, circumcision, personal hygiene and dietary habits, and lifestyle improvements. In secondary healthcare setting, the graduates will learn about various environmental aspects like insecticidal spraying to control disease vectors and other environmental hygiene activities. In the tertiary healthcare setting, the graduates will learn about hospital-setting interventions like intravenous rehydration and related surgeries.
