Eligibility Criteria

General Category: Foreign and Indian nationals with OCI/PIO cards are eligible for admissions under general category. Candidate must have obtained MBBS degree from MCI recognized institution. Candidates must have completed one-year compulsory rotating internship after passing the final professional examination.

Admission Guidelines

Candidates must qualify in PG medical entrance exam. Qualified candidates shall be called for MD/MS admission counselling in the order of merit. Based on the availability of medical seats, candidates will be allotted a MD/MS seat.

Course Details

MS in General Surgery is a 3-year postgraduate course offering at Kasturba Medical College. During this course, focus will be given to the main components of the postgraduate curriculum: theoretical knowledge, practical and clinical skills, thesis skills, attitude including communication skills, and training in research methodology. In this postgraduate degree, students will learn about general surgery, anaesthesia, radiology and radio-therapy in the first year. During the second year, the main subjects will be general and neurosurgery, plastic surgery, paediatric surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, and urology. During the final year, the students will get good exposure to intensive therapy along with in-ward and in-OT.
