Course Details

It is a 3 year full time Post-Graduation course. It was approved by MCI and affiliated by RGUHS. Psychiatry is one of the specialized courses in medicine which deals with Diagnosis, prevention, study and treatment of mental disorders. Study of behavior, cognition, mood and perceptions are also studied under Psychiatry. The treatment which is given under psychiatry is combined treatment of psychiatric medication and psychotherapy. There are subspecialties (fellowship) under Psychiatry which are certified under American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN): Clinical neurophysiology, Forensic psychiatry, Addiction psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Geriatric psychiatry, Hospice and palliative medicine, Pain management, psychosomatic medicine are some courses.
