Course Details
The department of Electrical and Electronics was started in the year 1958. The graduate course in this Engineering covers the different aspects of Electrical and Electronics fields such as Advance Control System, Power & Industrial Electronics, Microprocessor Application, Solid State Relays and Protection, Computer Application to Power System Studies and High Voltage Studies.
The Department has many modern and also traditional laboratories such as Machines Lab, Circuits and simulation Lab, Power System Simulation Lab, Microprocessor Lab, High Voltage Lab and Electric Workshop. The department offers research activities, in Energy Management and Distribution System, Power System. It has a good relationship for Research and development work with Electrical Department of IISC, Bangalore, Karnataka Power Corporation, State Electricity Board, and CPRI Bangalore. The AICTE and UGC funded many projects of this department. As a part of consultancy work, the department undertakes testing of motors, Insulation Boards, Insulation of electrical appliances etc.
