Eligibility Criteria

A 2nd PUC/10+2 or equivalent with physics and mathematics as compulsory subjects. Chemistry/Electronics/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science as optional subjects. English as one of the languages. Minimum of 45% aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC only from Karnataka state) from a recognized board. Valid rank in KCET/COMED-K/JEE Mains.

Course Details

This department was established in 2008, now with an intake of 60 seats. CSE department at NIT provides the best infrastructure including domain-specific labs. CSE department regularly organizes seminars, workshops, symposiums and conferences in advancing areas of engineering. Faculty members are multi-subject experts and are very keen in learning new trends in the information technology market and updating the same to the students. Students are facilitated and encouraged in industry visits, programming contests, problem solving contests, regular quiz competitions, debates, team building, socializing and helping the colleagues, audio and visual presentations, sharing their ideas. Department has India’s NPTEL programmes, MIT’s Open Courseware, and the teaching aids include Multimedia LCD projectors, and smart class rooms. The department provides labs in database application, algorithm, web programming, networking, computer graphics and visualization, system software and compiler designing.
