Eligibility Criteria

Admission shall be open to the candidates who have passed prescribed qualifying examination with not less than 50% (45% in case of SC/ST) of the marks in aggregate of all the semesters/years of degree examination and the should have qualified in GATE.

Admission Guidelines

Admission is on the basis of rank obtained in GATE and AIT admits students as per prevailing rules and regulations of VTU.

Course Details

This course was started in 2014 with 18 seats. M. Tech in Thermal Power Engineering offers aspects of design, manufacture, testing, control and evaluation of thermal power equipment. Faculty members actively participate in research, currently involved in PhD program. Seminars and workshops are regularly conducted in the department; recently, Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd, Raichur Thermal Power Station conducted seminar on "Thermal Power Station Equipments and Operation." This course is aimed at developing necessary skills in the graduates in coordination with thermal power stations and other organizations. Career opportunities after completion of this course will be with thermal power stations across the globe and also in some MNCs including Robert Bosch, Crompton Greaves, Bajaj, Electrolux, Philips, and more. There is a broad scope after graduating in thermal power engineering.
