Course Details

Mechanical Engineering department was started in the academic year 1979. Focusing on the vision of the institute, the B.E degree program was started with 120 students of input in Mechanical Department with the set of vigorous core subjects followed by Industry related subjects, electives like Aircraft Structure Design, Robotics, CFD etc.

The students of the Mechanical department have participated in co-curricular activities and won many prizes, sports and cultural events. Over 294 projects are executed of which many are unique and innovative in their academics. The training has been given to the students on ready engineer program conducted by many noted companies. Designing of Robots for the robotic competition held at California, San Mateo, USA was completely organized by the department faculty members. The department established R&D centre for the Ph.D. degree program and also for collaborative and digital manufacturing to fulfil the needs of local industry of North Karnataka. The department organizes two workshops conducted by ISTE-MHRD in Bombay and Fluid Mechanics with IIT, Basic Thermodynamics with IIT, Kharagpur attended by faculty members of the department and also the faculties from other colleges
