Candidate should hold a Master’s Degree (from a recognized university) in the relevant subject with a minimum of 55% (In the case of SC / ST candidates there will be a relaxation of 5%). Candidates who are qualified for CA or ACS or ICWA with basic degree are also eligible to register for M.Phil. in this category. Candidates who have qualified for Master’s Degree prior to 1990 - 1991, with no less than 50% marks are also eligible to register for M.Phil. program

Eligible candidates will be required to take up M.Phil. Entrance examination comprising an Aptitude Test, a Subject Paper and an Interview. Reservations for SC, ST and other candidates shall be as per extant guidelines of the Government of India
Course Details
The M.Phil. Degree shall have the status of an intermediate Degree between the first Post-Graduate Degree and the Doctorate Degree. It will have both research and course components and will give the student adequate background for advanced research. The Programme will be concerned with the dynamics of culture in all its manifestations – Art and Architecture, Literature & Performances (including theatre, recitation, elocution, debating, argumentation and reviews), Language & Translation (including inter-semiotic transfers), Music & Choreography, Films & Documentation (including short and ad films), Museum & Curating, and several related fields.
